Berk's Grapevine

Episode 10 news [UPDATED x 2]

UPDATE 10/31: Episode 10 is called "Heather Report Part I"

...which confirms our suspicion that it will be a two-part episode
and possibly confirms Anna Maria Perez de TaglĂ© as the voice of Heather.

It will air on November 14 at 8pm Eastern Time.

So we all know that there's no new episodes for the rest of the month (booo!) And this leaves the next episode on the chopping block the infamous Episode 10.

There's been plenty of talk about this episode since even a year ago but especially since we interviewed a storyboard artist who worked on the "Heather episode" back in May.

Still, apparently Episode 10 is made to please according to the director via our twitter:

10/27 UPDATE!:  So turns out that, yes, episode 10 is about "The Rise of Heather"! Confirmed by the episode director himself!

Riders of Berk marathon this Saturday!

Poster by "Hiccstrid"

NOTE:
The livestream is now over. It was tons of sassy fun and we had another great turn out!
Be sure to be there for the November 3rd "Behind the Scenes" Livestream!

Since our last streaming party back in July was a hit, and with the no new episode next week...and possibly for a lot of weeks, why not have a marathon of the episodes thus far?

It will again be hosted by the wonderful tumblr user Hiccstrid this Saturday at 6pm EDT, 3pm PDT and 10pm GMT. (Check the sidebar for the countdown if you're confused by time zones.) The show will be about 4.5 hours long and has limited spots, make sure to get there on time!

Like last time, we will be announcing another special event at the end! We hope to see you all there!

How to Train Your (Lego) Dragon

A while back we put up the official dragon models from Wild Skies, and Stormbringer88 showed us a link to his collection of HTTYD dragons made of lego.

He's made models of Gronkles, Nadders, Nightmares, and of course, Night Furies.

Check out his gallery here!

Riders of Berk on DVD

Riders of Berk is coming to DVD! It will be released on November 20th (Just in time for Snoggletog!) and will contain the first four episodes of the show:
  • How to Start a Dragon Academy
  • Viking for Hire
  • Animal House
  • The Terrible Twos
In addition, the DVD will include five "dragon cards" that apparently come to life if you have an iPhone. Strange.

You can now pre-order the DVD on Amazon.

On our commenting policy

If you've checked the comments recently, you may have noticed we've been receiving a lot of spam. We want to thank you for handling it so well, probably even better than we would have. In the future, here's a list of things you can do to help us deal with spam:
  1. Don't feed the trolls Gobber's socks. If someone posts spam, don't reply to it. Replying not only makes them more likely to post again, it also means the comment will stay ("hidden") on the site even after I delete it.
  2. Downvote (↓). This will prevent the comment from showing up at the top of the page. If you get some of these on your comments, you should consider it a warning.
  3. Flag as inappropriate. This hides the offending comments and makes it easier for us moderators to spot posts that don't belong on this site. You should only do this if the comment is really bad and you are sure it shouldn't be here. Profanity and insults are good examples.
Okay, that's all I wanted to say. Thanks for reading. Now back to posting dragons!

Dragons live store has opened!

The Dragons live store just opened a couple days ago. It's the only place (that we know of) where you can still buy HTTYD stuff, so if you missed out on the movie merchandise you should check it out. They have dragonesque headwear, several plush toys, keychains, shirts, and of course, everyone's favorite Night Fury tankard cup.

So even if you can't see the show, at least you can get the dragons.
