Dragons 2 screening reveals more plot points

On October 3, Dean DeBlois spoke about and showed some footage from How to Train Your Dragon 2 to about 100 members of the National Association of Theater Owners, revealing a few new plot points.

Here are the highlights:

  • Dragons 2 opens with a frenetic action scene
  • At the beginning, Hiccup is pressured by Stoick to start a family and become chief
  • Hiccup rebels by flying away from Berk and exploring new lands
  • Hiccup meets the new characters during his exploration

Viewers of screenings for Dragons 2 described the film as dark, comparing it to The Empire Strikes Back as Dean DeBlois has done before. According to the article, Dean DeBlois is also already working on the script for How to Train Your Dragon 3.
