Below are the more detailed community rules. These may appear obvious to most commenters, but these things happen frequently enough that it was important to write them out.
Stay on topic. Please do not:- Talk about anything unrelated to dragons.
- Post unrelated images, videos, or links, especially as a top-level comment.
- Promote your own sites, videos, writing, or other content.
Don't use the comments as a chat room. Please do not:- Use the comment system for personal discussions.
- Roleplay (we have a forum for this).
- Ask who is online right now.
- Post hello or goodbye whenever you visit or leave the site.
- Reply to other comments as top-level comments (click "reply" instead)
Respect other users of this site. Please do not:- Insult or disrespect anyone or any group, especially other users.
- Use profanity (we want this site to be open to all ages).
- Post any kind of hate speech.
- Use excessive capital letters, punctuation, or non-language characters.
Respect the dragons. Please do not:- Link to pirated content.
- Post major spoilers of upcoming films, shorts, or episodes (check first if you are unsure).
- Share other fans' dragon art without crediting them.
Comments that violate these rules will be deleted. Depending on the circumstance, the writer of the comment may receive a warning.
Profanity, hate speech, intentionally disrespectful behavior toward other users, and excessive or spammy off-topic posting will result in an instant, indefinite, and irreversible ban. Treat others with respect, and this will never happen to you!
Though it isn't a rule, you should also know that posting dragon news in the comments is not the best way of submitting it to the site. It may not be read for a few days and you will likely not be credited if what you shared is eventually posted. You can submit news here.
