O.o That Toothless... I don't know, I would be happy as long as the face was more correct...
I feel like DW is going overboard with the franchise now. So many toys and food and games and other stuff. The movie has 4 months left to go; I feel they need to slow down a bit.

  4. I need that huge poster into my room :D

    ReplyDelete
  5. I think they have to do this because of Fox. Fox want to see money, they don't spend money for the movie and series without want having money back.

  6. O.O Well it's not legos but GIVE ME TOYS~! Y U MAKE ME GO BROKE DW? Do you want me not pay for my college fund? Why do they have to be so AWESOME!!? And Cloudjumper? YES!

  9. the unholy offspring of a night fury and the loch ness monster

  10. I'd save up for a 3D printer, then, you could print your own dragons, characters, Berk landscape, etc. Science!

  11. I really want Lego to make official Dragon Themed Sets and no matter what site I go on, I always find ponies.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Eee! I wish I could go, what is the Viking Adventure game about! That life size Toothless is pretty inaccurate. the face is all wrong. and the Funko toys are so ADORABLE!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. FINALLY Pop figures! I always see super hero Pop figures and think they are cool, but super heroes aren't really my thing.. I've always hoped I would find one of a character I liked, but I never thought they'd make HTTYD figures! Im gonna cry :') now all we need are some quality plushies instead of those ungodly Walmart ones.. XD

Hey, the lego-ish looking toy and the Toothless pop figure both have the red tail on the wrong side....

    ReplyDelete
  14. That Toothless is going to haunt my dreams... if they're gonna make something like that and put it on display, can't they at least make it look close to the original instead of embarrassing themselves? XD

    ReplyDelete
  15. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. (Long silence) I NEEEEEEED IT!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Than, there would be be a huge 20th Century Fox Logo on every Toy. The licenses for such things come from DW and they don't ask companies if they could produce some toys, the companys come to DW and ask if they could have the license. :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. gagahchdjskkjcdjskcdsoowakm I need these

    ReplyDelete
  23. Scauldrons found a new picture of mini figures... With a mystery dragon!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I was watching the trailer and looked closely at the part with all the dragons, and I thought I spotted a skrill! Well, a skrill's wing design at least. Sorry about the ads, they pop up when I pause a video. And sorry about the quality, I can't make it any better. :/

    ReplyDelete
  25. My worst nightmare come true... Lego HTTYD toys knock off.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ok... ok... you know, I'm gonna need to get a job really soon so I can BUY ALL OF THIS! Ahhhhhhhhh!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Btw, in the war card game, Hiccup and Toothless better outrank everybody else in points (I guess we could let Valka be up there with her considering how fantastic she and cloudjumper apparently are!).

    ReplyDelete
  28. those big heads are soo CUTE!!! i need to get all of them!

    ReplyDelete
  29. If they're going for accuracy, then they would have to have Valka and Cloudjumper be the best by a country mile, since they kind of kicked Hiccup and Toothless' proverbial posteriors.

Of course, that is a big if, so you could still easily get what you want.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Haha, true.
But of course it was an ambush attack, and as far as we've gotten info from the Comic Con footage, Hiccup told Toothless not to attack because he wasn't sure if she was an enemy.
Then of course Valka's probably never fought the Red Death.
But she captures the two characters who did... so where should she rank XD
Sorry, I ran a sort of silly roleplaying game once, so discovering what "level" a character should be at is always a bit of a funny tease for me.

    ReplyDelete
  31. And nothing in here interests me. Games too simple for me, horrible-looking Lego knock-offs (why is Dorothy the Dinosaur in HTTYD 2?), and Funko toys (which have never been my thing). Heck, I don't even want the giant display thing, because that ain't Toothless.

All I want I terms of merchandise are some accurate, posable action figures. Is that so much to ask?

    ReplyDelete
  32. hiccupandtoothlesshybridFebruary 16, 2014 at 6:22 PM

I need every one of these toys

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well, now this gives legitimacy to Toy Story crossovers... I wonder if Toy Story 4 would have HTTYD toys...

    ReplyDelete
  34. i would love for something like that, the mini 3 inch figures out now for DoB aren't accurate at all, the dragons are cute but a completely accurate figure would be amazing! i do agree with the games, far to easy and simple but then again the target audience is 12y/o kids

    ReplyDelete
  35. Your argument of "it was an ambush" kind of fails when, as you admit, Hiccup had enough advance warning to tell Toothless not to attack. In other words, the two were on their guard, and Valka and Cloudjumper still beat them effortlessly. Plus, Valka can knock out dragons by waving her hand in their general direction. With that level of magic, she's so far beyond Hiccup that it's not even funny.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I just hope the movie will be the best one this year :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I do wish for the same thing. I want Hiccup's pose-able action figure, at least.

    ReplyDelete
  38. You have a point...
but could she and Cloudjumper defeat the Red Death?

    ReplyDelete
  39. It seems like they do outrank everyone with Astrid and Stormfly being a close second judging by the picture here. Mystery surrounding Valka notwithstanding, that's what I've really taken away from all the marketing and merchandising so far. They seem to be promoting Astrid every bit as much as they are Hiccup. Not that I'm complaining because I think she's awesome, that's just something I've noticed.

    ReplyDelete
  40. it was an ambush because when he saw them he told toothless not to attack you cant tell someone not to attack something if they don't know if there is even something to attack plus toothless is a night fury and beat a monstrous nightmare which can flame up and is the same sizen as cloud jumper in a matter of secnds

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'd prefer the actual movie over the toys.

    ReplyDelete
  42. why?!? the movie is not even out and already you want me to go bankrupt DreamWorks!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Those are adorable! :D

    ReplyDelete
  44. The last dragon looks like he's wearing a green sweater

    ReplyDelete
  45. Looking at the quality on some of these, you can say that again. They really need to look at the details and quality better. On those things that look like Lego The Nadder is all wrong, the Gronckle is the wrong colours, and the two on the top that are redish I can't even tell what they are.

    ReplyDelete
  46. OMG He does! X3 I just noticed that!

    ReplyDelete
  47. The Pops!!
    Must. Need.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Just what everyone needs. A sheep-launcher. XD

    ReplyDelete
  49. If it were to be a Pixar-Disney movie, I can see a Stitch plush slumped against a Toothless plush.

    ReplyDelete
  50. In short: yes.

In long: why the heck couldn't she? The basic method to defeat the Red Death is not all that complicated, and certainly something that Valka would have observed in the years she's been with dragons. In addition, she and Cloudjumper are clearly a quicker pair than Hiccup and Toothless, or else the attack on our supposed protagonists would not have worked (note: Toothless may well have greater reflexes and a higher natural speed, but have been hampered by his disability; the result is the same either way). They also have more than sufficient firepower to light the Red Death's flame. So really, what do Hiccup and Toothless have that Valka and Cloudjumper don't have?

Note that this is also assuming that the "KO Dragon" spell has arbitrary limitations (not all that unusual for fantasy) that prevent it from working on the Red Death. Otherwise, Valka can beat the Red Death by herself, and probably make it her bitch like every other dragon.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Okay, I'm legitimately struggling to figure out what you're trying to say there. I'm going to respond to what I think you were saying, but if I'm wrong, then it would be helpful to all concerned if you were a little clearer. Capital letters and sentences would be a good start.

    1. As you have said, Hiccup knew that Valka was there, so the attack hardly qualifies as an ambush. It's rather like if I see a suspicious-looking person at the other end of the block, and then a little while after noticing him, he runs at me with a sword (hey, some situations are tricky to translate into a modern context). That's not an ambush. It's an unprovoked assault and really messed up, but that's another matter.

Note also that, in the situation above, if I had a sword, then the resulting battle would be a pretty darn good way of determining which of us is the better sword fighter (almost certainly my attacker). Likewise, the curb-stomp battle between Hiccup and Valka with their respective dragons is an excellent way of determining which is the better rider/dragon combination. The answer: Valka and Cloudjumper, easily.

    2. True, Toothless beat Hookfang, but the lesson to take from that is that size is not the only factor in determining which dragon is better, and certainly does not have any bearing once you add a rider to the equation (for instance, I doubt that there would be any arguments if I said that Astrid and Stormfly are a more powerful combination than Snotlout and Hookfang, though that's not to say that the latter pair is useless). Therefore, it doesn't matter that Hookfang is bigger than Cloudjumper. The point is that Valka and Cloudjumper beat Hiccup and Toothless fair and square, and are thus the better combination.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Honestly, I like most of the three-inch figures, at least of the dragons. They're clearly not accurate, but, much like the Funko figures, they're not supposed to be. They have their own exaggerated art style; it just happens to be one that I like. But yeah, I would definitely prefer some more accurate figures.

As for the games, it doesn't look like these are aimed at twelve year-olds, but rather at people about half that age. Twelve year-olds would be able to, at least in principle, handle something more along the lines of a tabletop RPG or tabletop war game of HTTYD, which, for what it's worth, would also be something I would be interested in.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I hope we get more dragons from spin master.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The red dragons are supposed to be a nightmare and cloudjumper. I wisk Lego was making them.

    ReplyDelete
  55. here is the astrid pop figure

    ReplyDelete
  56. Is this figure different one from the Funko Toys?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hiccup, Toothless and Astrid is definitely on my list now, 'till there's a real HTTYD 2 Hiccup action figure (If there is).
So when are these toys going to be ready for sale for everyone?
    2-3 months?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Really???? Yes, the wings are correct! I looked for it and may it really a skrill! It means very good!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I was so happy when I spotted it.. if we see a skrill in action with the high quality animation, I can die in peace. XD

    ReplyDelete
  60. I do not think that it is a Skrill... It seems to me that this is other dragon.

    ReplyDelete
  72. VelocityTheSpeedStingerFebruary 17, 2014 at 11:36 AM

It was said that Toothless was based off the design of Stitch, but this looks Toothy too xD

    ReplyDelete
  73. Yeah Mega Bloks should make them because they're cheaper than LEGOs and the characters are more accurate. Not this baby thing with like 5 pieces each.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I wish lego got their hands on the license.

    ReplyDelete
  75. could they have made the toothless statue any more horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Is the Red Death a boy or a girl? I think it's a boy but everybody says it's the queen of the dragons. What I tell them though is that is was just an analogy made by Astrid about the Red Death being a queen bee and the dragons being the workers. Let me know what your opinion is.

    ReplyDelete
  77. does anyone think we are going to get the timber jack in the second half of the season finale? I sure hope they do.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Mega blocks does not have the quality Lego has.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Legos would be fine too but the only reason I said Mega Bloks is because the figures and dragons would be like mini action figures while as Legos they would be like all cubical. But I agree with you.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Wait... that was actually supposed to be Toothless!?!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Does anyone want an Energy Drink? XD

    ReplyDelete
  82. your right but also think about it hiccup never allows toothless to use his full power for example in rob toothless fought the whispering death (if toothless could have flown he would win easily and he still beat him without flying he put the whispering death in a submission and tackle but that's not the point toothless was about to kill him but hiccup wouldn't let him) but if it was just cloud jumper vs toothless no riders I think toothless would win but with riders included because valka has more experience valka and cloud jumper would win

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'm pretty sure they'll have real action figures. Wouldn't it be cool if they had fully posable action figures for both the dragons and Vikings?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ooh! Those look great!
    I WANT.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I'm not sure I agree here.

I agree that it wasn't exactly an ambush since Hiccup had time to tell Toothless not to attack, but from the description of the Comic Con footage of this scene, it sounds like Valka takes advantage of Hiccup being startled and grabs him off Toothless's back before either of them can react (presumably while they're still trying to determine whether Valka and Cloudjumper are friend or foe). Therefore, without Hiccup to control him, Toothless plummets into the sea and there's no real actual fight to speak of.

I think it's pretty apparent from the trailer footage that Valka is a far better dragon trainer than Hiccup, seeing as she's literally been living with them for years, but in terms of the combination of her and Cloudjumper (who we don't seem to know almost anything about unless I missed something) being infinitely better together than the main duo of the movie? I'm not sure we have enough info yet to determine that.

(Note: They may in fact BE better than Hiccup and Toothless, I'm just saying that we don't know enough about them to say that with certainty.)

    ReplyDelete
  86. anyone looking for the pop head guys for HTTYD2

    http://www.toywiz.com/httdragon.html
looks like they are on pre-order and won't be available for quite some time but still, i'm looking forward to collecting these!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I saw on httyd wiki that Toothless is also based off of an axolotl.

    ReplyDelete
  88. haha! httyd 2 everywhere! cant wait!

    ReplyDelete
  89. I personally don't really care for them either, but then again, I don't really like legos....

    ReplyDelete
  90. IKR! I want the hiccup and astrid ones!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I REALLY want those! I especially love the toothless, hiccup, and astrid ones!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Im wishing I could have gone to the toy fair!

    ReplyDelete
  93. yeah, there's httyd 2 everywhere so this movie must be better than the first film.

    ReplyDelete
  94. What does it taste like? Cuz honestly, I can't stand most pop.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Well...
We don't yet know how fast Cloudjumper is, and the Red Death was capable of keeping up with Hiccup and Toothless (thus was pretty fast). Then, we also don't know what Cloudjumper's fire is like (yet), and it would need to be something with decent range (so as to blast into the mouth of the Red Death), and it would also need to have some punch behind it (so as to blast holes in the wings). Regular fire (like Nadder or Monstrous Nightmare) would probably not do the job on the wings, and having the wings blasted through was a critical factor (just lighting the flame in the mouth is not what killed the Red Death. The fact that it had a massive fireball lit in it's throat and then hit the ground, crushing it's skull and apparently rupturing whatever organ that kept the combustable gases which then were lit by the already burning flame is probably what caused the creature's death. If Cloudjumper's fire is either short ranger or non-explosive, then I think that the dragon would have a very hard time effectively combating the Red Death. Also, keep in mind that Toothless's dark hide allowed him to escape detection long enough for him to seriously damage his massive opponent. As of now we don't know how stealthy Clowdjumper is, but there is the problem of it's size being much more noticeable. All that to say... I'm not convinced that Cloudjumper could have defeated the Red Death in the same way Hiccup and Toothless did. Maybe we'll discover that it's fire and speed are adequate when we see the film, who knows!
So, in the end, Hiccup and Toothless have higher speed (according to stats at least, Toothless is supposed to be the fastest dragon), higher stealth, and acetylene blasts, and as far as we know, Cloudjumper and Vaka don't have that.

But that is not to say that you are not right that Valka and her dragon outclass Hiccup and Toothless... it's just that I don't think we've seen evidence that they outclass them in everything. I think we can safely say that Hiccup and Toothless will display in the second movie that they do indeed have things that Valka and Cloudjumper don't, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hiccup says "Well he can fly". But then of course there is the queen metaphor. I always considered it to be male as well, but opinions on it differ quite a lot, so I usually just let people chose for themselves because I honestly can't say one side has a better argument than the other.

    ReplyDelete
  97. What I want to see more than anything are more night fuires

    ReplyDelete
  98. I probably guessed one of them was probably a nightmare, with the Gronckle, Nadder, Zippleback, Night Fury, and no Nightmare. even if none of them looked anything like one. at all. But CloudJumper is white! (with a little orange on the edges) not BLOOD RED!

    ReplyDelete
  99. ikr. In the discription it is a life size Toothless that moves and roars.

    ReplyDelete
  100. this looks way more like toothless than the creepy one above

    ReplyDelete
  101. i agree but i also think that would send everyone overboard with excitement.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I'm not sure I agree here.

I agree that it wasn't exactly an
ambush since Hiccup had time to tell Toothless not to attack, but from
the description of the Comic Con footage of this scene, it sounds like
Valka takes advantage of Hiccup being startled and grabs him off

    ReplyDelete
  103. If they are cheap I may buy one, just to collect the can not to drink it, that stuff is deadly.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Sorry about that but what I meant was hiccup told toothless not to attack when he saw her he couldn't have told toothless not to attack her if he didn't know she was there in the first place yet I am curious what would happen if toothless fought cloud jumper by himself no riders I think toothless would win because he is as stronger than hook fang (who is notably larger and stronger than most nightmares ) and beat a whispering death in rob even without hiccup jumped high and far enough to nock him on the ground more than once and keep him pinned and if he could fly would easily beat him) But also hiccup never allows toothless use his full power he never allowed him to kill the same whispering death and never allowed him to hurt outcast or berserkers to the point were they were killed lastly night fury have the highest stats of any dragon but with riders valka and cloud jumper would probably win in a very close match because they have more experience but still very good points

    ReplyDelete
  105. Hi. I tried asking this question on the Video Submission post yesterday, but I'm not sure that anyone saw it because I didn't get a response. :) If I display my HTTYD merchandise (posters, stuffed animals, action figures, etc.) behind me in my video, does that count as "prominent advertising"? Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  106. ikr. I can't even tell where the head is on the Nightmare.

  108. Are you using a Disqus account?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Yeah, like we weren't already making lego versions of HTTYD on our spare time. XD

    ReplyDelete
  110. I have been informed the top two are CloudJumper (Left) and Monstrous Nightmare... some how. (Right) And the Gronckle I get it does not have to be the exact colours as the main dragons, but if the others are main colours Green with yellow polka dots is just ugly and stands out. Turns out instead of making Cloudjumper white and if they wanted to add it orangey edges, they made Him/Her blood red. What gender/species is Cloudjumper again? I know we don't know the species, but I have a theory I know is probably not true that Cloudjumper is a titan wing Night Fury,

    ReplyDelete
  111. Yeah, I think the Toothless from the Live Arena show was a more accurate detail compared to that... thing in the expo. Could've just saved money and brought ARENAToothless to the toy con.

    ReplyDelete
  112. No problem! I waiting to make my video cause I ordered a shirt with toothless on it then I'm going to the movie theater and filming it with the HTTYD 2 poster in the background

    ReplyDelete
  113. That toothless at the toy con is sad and hard to look at, the live spectacular one was cool and truly realistic and still maintained accurate proportions, the thing is that different companies probably made both so that's where you ask, who should have really been hired to put up that display?

    ReplyDelete
  114. I still say that Titan Wing classification only applies to Boulder Class dragons.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I want one XD ima name it Toothless :3

    ReplyDelete
  116. Need them, I suddenly want trading cards xd

    ReplyDelete
  117. I agree Astrid has been getting alot of attention concerning the second movie, I suspect she is going to have a much bigger role in the sequel than in the first movie, at least I hope so, I really like Astrid :3

    ReplyDelete
  118. It could very well be a Skrill, since it appears in the leaked posters of comic con, it might as well appear there right?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Is the night too cold? aww poor baby ill give you my sweater XD

    ReplyDelete
  120. I still say that it doesn't work like that. They needed filler at that point in the book of dragons. Like how they talked about dragons shedding their scales and claws, and then grow them back for the snaptrapper. It does not only apply to fear class or snaptrappers there. He was only talking about ALL dragon stages.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Did they mention that the stages apply to all the Dragons?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  123. I know, I could design a realistic Skrill the same size :D

    ReplyDelete
  124. I have a question for everyone toothless vs these dragons round one on land and no fire round two flying and on land and fire and explain who wins both with no riders
    1: toothless vs whispering death
    2: toothless vs skrill
    3: toothless vs cloudjumper
    4: toothless vs thunderdrum

    ReplyDelete
  125. No, but they didn't say it didn't apply to all of them. I said it was a probably not right theory, I am not saying He/She is really a Titan Wing Night Fury, but not saying it is impossible. They have similarity, similar wings, simmilar tails (as far as I can tell) Similar body shape, legs, same hip fins, just bigger, extra set of wings, and cool face details. The Screaming Death looks a little different from the Whispering Death right?

    ReplyDelete
  126. True. But both the Whispering Death and the Creaming Death are Boulder Class Dragons.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Toothless vs Whispering Death, Toothless can't fly with out a rider. And in what lies beneath it was proven that means he can't beat it. He can last, but if it corners Toothless where he needs to fly to escape he is toast. Unless Hiccup jumps off another cliff.
Toothless vs Skrill again, unfair because the skrills lightning is atracted to his metal fin, and again he can't fly without a rider. Skrill is a strike class like Toothless! Strike class is known for its blazing speed, and some other stuff. Unfair.
Toothless vs Cloudjumper yet AGAIN he cant fly and that is very bad for him in battle unless he has a rider. and We don't know how Cloudjumper is in battle because we know very little about him/her and also Cloudjumper is 4 times bigger then Toothless.
Toothless vs Thunderdrum, if flying wasn't too much of an issue here he would totally beat a Thunderdrum.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Also I would like to add lets say if there are no riders in this fight and toothless can fly by himself if he fought cloud jumper in a straight up fight toothless would win without hiccup always keeping him from using his full power toothless would beat cloud jumper easily he is much faster and maneuverable as well as the fact he is as strong or stronger than a whispering death but also is very intelligent lastly his fire destroys battlements of metal stone and wood in one shot I would like your opinion on this fight please explain your side.

    ReplyDelete
  129. what i meant is that toothless can fly on his own without a rider and in the round were there is no flying that also means the other dragon cant fly

    ReplyDelete
  130. also cloud jumper is the same size as hookfang more or less

    ReplyDelete
  131. oml the mini toys look sooo cute i want one!!!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Blind box figures? Great. More money I waste trying to collect them all XD

    ReplyDelete
  133. Whispering death ans Screaming death are same species. Titan Wing. You know? It is just the special name for the titan wing whispering death.

    ReplyDelete
  134. That... creature is most definitely not Toothless... I don't care what anyone says, there is no way that is the Toothy we know and love.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I've made a spore Toothless... And compared to this thing, it was freaking gorgeous...

    ReplyDelete
  136. As long as the costumes don't look like this:

    ReplyDelete
  137. The only things I see here that I would get are the Toothless funko figure (I would probably put pupils on it) maybe the Hiccup and Astrid Funko figures, and maybe the puzzles. Everything else seems... Unattractive to me. (This is coming from the teenager who wants the HTTYD sippy cup and kiddie plate...)

    ReplyDelete
  138. All the same, their still Boulder Class dragons. Plus, I think Cloudjumper might be the Dragon that Toothless was hiding under in the trailer.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Oh, in that case he would beat the whispering death, beat the skrill, (even though it would be a little harder, because the skrill is a good match for him. Being so strong and the only other strike class dragon.) might still have an issue against cloudjumper, we don't know cloudjumpers battle stats but judjing by his/her size, (especially of muscles) and extra set of wings, he/she might be a strike class. And Cloud jumper is bigger then a Nightmare I am pretty sure. And Thunderdrum, YOU ARE GOING DOWN!

    ReplyDelete
  140. Hisssssssssssssssssssssss. WHY CAN'T THESE PEOPLE GET ONE IF THE MOST IMPORTANT DETAILS OF TOOTHLESS CORECT?! *cries in a corner* I actually liked that Vinyl Toothless... But if I get it, I'd always be judging him...

    ReplyDelete
  141. It is supposed to be. Not sailing myself it is, but that is what it is supposed to be.

    ReplyDelete
  142. oh yeah that is who Cloudjumper is. Don't you know? He/She is also the tiny dragon you see in the background of the dragon race book. And YES I get they are both Boulder Class. That is because the Whispering death is the only dragon seen as a titan wing so far. ONE. UNO. I doubt there will be another one soon. but it does not only count for boulder class.

If you ask me, those costumes look great. Now the Night Fury needs to be black and have an accurate tail fin. I understand that the head masks or whatever you like to call them look really weird, particularly with Toothless' and the Nightmare's, but as far as I'm concerned the detail of the scales and wings look pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  144. cool man :) but I saw the trailer cloudjumper is only a bit bigger than a nightmare

    ReplyDelete
  145. YEAH! YOU POWN THAT THUNDERDRUM TOOTHLESS! :D

    ReplyDelete
  146. Preach man preach but what do you think of typhomerang vs toothless ame rules apply man :) ;)

    ReplyDelete
  147. thornado is stronger than toothless, snd so i think thunderdrum can beat a night fury... hardly, but can bear it.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Hmm. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. What all that proves to me is that the Valka/Cloudjumper combination is faster than Hiccup's reflexes, as you say. It also possibly proves that they're faster together than Hiccup and Toothless are together. That's about it though. It doesn't really prove anything about their strength, firepower, maneuverability, etc. Just reaction time and speed. In terms of the fair fight thing, I wouldn't really call it a fair fight unless both parties are aware that their actually IN a fight. Hiccup at the very least, doesn't seem to have realized that. Just being aware of Valka's proximity doesn't mean he knew she was going to flat out attack him and Toothless.

In your Flash analogy, people he would be fighting would have been criminals, therefore by seeing him they should know that they're in for a fight because he's obviously a superhero. Valka/Cloudjumper and Hiccup/Toothless had never seen each other before. From what I can tell, it's more akin to a random stranger walking up to you on the street, staring at you for a little bit, and then punching you in the face without provocation. Is it still a fair fight if one side didn't realize that the other was even trying to fight them? Yeah, you could argue that that's Hiccup being unprepared and foolish and you'd be right, but still...the point stands.

Either way, I really hope they don't give Hiccup and Toothless a point in this movie that's hopelessly contrived. I tend to trust DeBlois not to do that, but still, avoiding setting yourself up for disappointment is indeed a very good idea. I usually try and do that as well.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Cloudjumper has 4 wings though, so at least they got that right..

    ReplyDelete
  150. OMG! I need it! All of it! So getting both puzzles!

    ReplyDelete
  151. Omergawd
    I need dem nao pls

    ReplyDelete
  152. I watched it very carefully - it is not a Skrill, because it has got long neck with small head and those wings are too long and too narrow. However, Skrill might fly somewhere on right, under YouTube ad :)

    ReplyDelete
  153. Okay, Whisper, you got me ;)

    ReplyDelete
  154. I honestly don't have enough information to say one way or another. The
evidence certainly suggests that Cloudjumper is naturally faster
(unless Valka somehow increases its speed) and smarter than Hookfang,
thus making it a harder fight for Toothless than his most noteworthy
solo victory, but on the other hand, you've removed Toothless' weakness
as well. I need more evidence to be able to say anything further.

    ReplyDelete
  155. 1. Okay, let's start by fixing my analogy through changing the
character to Shadow the Hedgehog. Much like Valka, he's technically on
the same side as the hero (well, okay, in Shadow's case, eventually, but
you get the idea), but looks suspicious and is frankly an asshole.
Therefore, much like with Valka, anyone seeing him at the other end of
the block is going to be suspicious and on their guard. They'll be aware that he is there, and ready for a fight, and thus any fight that
takes place is, in principle, fair, and can be used to judge who is the
better fighter, even though Shadow is so fast that the fight will generally be over in a flash. Just like with Valka and Cloudjumper
    versus Hiccup and Toothless.

    2. Cloudjumper is freaking huge compared to Toothless, so would possess
the edge in raw strength. Cloudjumper clearly needs plenty of agility in order to be able to get into a position to make that strike against
Hiccup and Toothless in the first place. In addition, the shot we see
in the trailer clearly shows that it's pretty darn maneuverable.
Possibly not as maneuverable as Toothless, but clearly agile enough to
beat him with its other advantages, and thus agile enough to beat the
Red Death. As for firepower, you don't actually need that much to beat the Red Death if you know the weakness. Most baseball, basketball, and
cricket players could do it with a lighter and balls of steel, plus
being in the right position. In other words, Cloudjumper would possess more than enough firepower, unless it happens to be incapable of
breathing fire. I'm going to take a punt and say that it is capable of
breathing fire, and is thus capable of beating the Red Death, at least
    with Valka's help.

    ReplyDelete
  156. 1. Okay, the Red Death's wings were already decaying before the final
battle (it kind of comes with the territory of staying in a mountain for
a few centuries, unless your name is Smaug), and as I recall, you can
already see holes in the wings when it spreads them for the first time.
Toothless may well have blasted some extra holes, but that was neither
necessary to rip them apart (trying to pull up too quickly was more than
enough to do that, because physics and all that) nor for any other
aspect of the plan. As far as I can tell, the point of attacking the
Red death directly was to stun it (in the case of saving Astrid and
Stormfly - not necessary to defeat the Red Death) and pissing it off
enough to get it to follow you. Even if we assume that Cloudjumper's
fire attacks are insufficient to cause pain (and that's a very big if),
there are still loads of other things it can do. Attacking the eyes is
an obvious example, but even throwing a spear at the scaly hide and
shouting at it seemed to be enough to draw the Red Death's attention.
In short, Valka and Cloudjumper have more than enough tricks up their
sleeve to lead the Red Death into position and have the firepower
(barring the Valka Villain Probability of Cloudjumper not being able to
shoot fire) to bring it down once it is in position.

As for Toothless being stealthier (and that's a bit iffy when you're
hiding in the clouds anyway) that's kind of useless in the long run,
given that the Red Death can and does basically light the sky on fire.
In addition, Cloudjumper doesn't have a great big non-fireproof weak
spot, so it can actually take a glancing hit from the flames, thus
allowing it to stay in the air longer to lure the Red Death into
    position.

    2. The stats are secondary material, and thus have no validity when
there is perfectly good primary material to refer to. The curb stomp
battle between Valka/Cloudjumper and Hiccup/Toothless shows that
Cloudjumper has a higher effective battle speed (this taking into
account raw speed and agility) than Toothless, at least when the former
is being ridden by Valka. Now, it may well be the case that Toothless
was faster before he got crippled, but that's a moot point, since it is
clearly separate from what is actually going on in both the fight
against the Red Death and the second film.s

    oh now i see it

    ReplyDelete
  167. Me too. I never play trading cards but I want to get anything related to HTTYD if I could and if it's cool.

    ReplyDelete
  168. You make a valid point. The details are good, I think it is just the masks that freak me out...

    ReplyDelete
  169. maybe they do, but you can see some timber jack in the 2nd trailer, so maybe they put them only into the movie.

  171. There is one thing I do not agree with is the fact that cloud jumper is faster than toothless . toothless is the fastest flying dragon and is a close match for a speed stinger when on land even with the prosthetic toothless speed still dominates in the rob dob intro there is a cone that forms around toothless meaning he can go a supersonic speeds toothless is much faster and cloudjumper is bigger but doesn't mean he is stronger I would say him and toothless are around the same strength wise

  172. Please come tomorrow to chat :/

    ReplyDelete
  173. There's gonna be 10 character cards I think and 30 dragons species cards, 5 autograph cards, 5 rider liscences, 60 story cards I think, and some location cards, that's all I can remember.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Sorry guys, they are not real. XD
I just made them digitally for a project I'm currently working on.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Haha, now I know Im not alone on the pupil part. XD and I know where you're coming from. I was hoping for some cool action figures or something.. not board games, puzzles, and lego toys that aren't actually even lego.. I guess all we can do is hope for more as the movie gets closer. :)

    ReplyDelete
  176. I know.. it ruins it to the point where it feels like it's not even Toothless.. I hope that gets fixed, because I would really enjoy the figure if I didn't have to die a little bit inside every time I look at it. XD

    ReplyDelete
  177. Yeah, after rewatching it several times I noticed too. Oh well. I still am reassured there will be one in the movie due to this image, as Catherine says above. :D

    ReplyDelete
  178. Oh my gosh I know. I have wanted to see more night furies since I first saw HTTYD1. While I can't speak for anyone else, a dream come true for me would be Hiccup and Toothless discovering a bunch of night furies in one area, like they talked about in We Are a Family part one/two. Except each night fury has different neon colored designs on them (kinda like the night fury maker game on DollDivine.com) and their own unique personality. A cherry on top would be if night furies could communicate with each other in a way no other dragon can. Ah... that would be so cool... XD

However, I tweeted Jsanford asking if we would ever see another night fury, whether it's in the series or trilogy. He replied "That question will be answered soon. be patient."

If we do see another night fury, I would imagine it would be in the movies, not the TV show. TV shows usually don't have anything in them that could affect the movie(s) logic.

But if we don't see another night fury by the end of the whole franchise, I will be disappointed. In my opinion, it would seem a bit unrealistic, for Hiccup and Toothless to travel to new lands and not see at least one night fury. (That is, if Dreamworks doesn't confirm at some point that Toothless really IS the last night fury.) But that's just what I think.

Sorry for all the typing... I had to get that out, haha. :)

  180. This was just posted on Defenders of Berk facebook! One comment suggests they could be the offspring of Thornado and the purple dragon he was protecting when they first found him. Thoughts? Do you think these could be Thornado's sons and daughters?

AAAWWW The new baby Thunderdrums are super duper mega cute!
Twitter synopsis: "Thunderdrums: cutest things ever or TOTAL MENACE?"
The cuteness is DEADLY that's why! xP

    ReplyDelete
  183. I said that Cloudjumper is faster than Hookfang - big difference.

Otherwise, I honestly don't know and don't care about stuff that's not related to the characters as they are.

    ReplyDelete
  184. AWWWW They be so freakin cute! I need one :'3 Anyways, seeing these cute little things ''menacing'' Berk makes me believe more and more that Thornado will leave Berk and Stoick to raise these little cuties. :( but its for the best, I'll miss you Thornado :'(

    ReplyDelete
  185. I've seen other people make spore toothless, and I agree with you, they do look much better XD

    ReplyDelete
  186. That seems like my kind of thing to do XD (maybe I unsuccessfully tried to turn my rat into Toothless :P)

    ReplyDelete
  187. Totally :3 I'm gonna be broke after that, since I want everything XD

    ReplyDelete
  188. That background Dragon is way too small to tell what it looks like. Besides, it doesn't look that much like a Night Fury to me.

    ReplyDelete
  189. What if these are Thornado's children? I mean think about it, one looks just like Thornado, the other looks like the thunderdrum he was protecting when we first met Thornado.. and the other looks like a mix between the two.

So what if that purple Thunderdrum that Thornado was protecting was Thornados mate.. and possibly had been pregnant or protecting a nest of eggs?

    ReplyDelete
  190. I know! I might get myself to like energy drinks just for this. But I don't mind the taste of crush. Even though I still don't drink that in case I get hooked on it.
