We've heard rumors of a third season of DreamWorks Dragons for some time now, but no definitive sign that it will exist. Today, we learned that two new seasons will be showing up on Netflix, starting in Spring 2015, which will continue the story from the previous seasons to Dragons 2!
Based on DreamWorks Animation’s hit How to Train Your Dragon films, the new episodes bridge the gap between the first feature film and the much-anticipated sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2, hitting theaters this summer. Weaving a continuous storyline, the television series works in tandem with the feature films and DVD specials, allowing fans to delve deeper into dragon lore. From the origin of Hiccup’s new flight suit and the secrets of his dragon blade to the young Viking’s budding romance with Astrid, DreamWorks Dragons on Netflix gives viewers rich details of the larger narrative with the introduction of new dragons, exotic places and worlds unknown.

In other dragon news, the new Riders of Berk comic has finally appeared! The comic was released two days ago and was written by Simon Furman with art by Iwan Nazif. You can see a couple pages and a description at Comic Book Resources.

ReplyDeleteI honestly didn't know there were comic books. I once talked to someone about it and they said the comic was canceled do to problems between DW and the publishing company. I might be wrong though.

ReplyDeleteThe 1st part of DoB and 4th part of RoD is releasing on 18th July... And here in Germany they make 4 parts of the two series... about 10€ / $7.30 for each DVD... so 40€ / $29 for one season

Fair enough, but the reason is probably because it was too expensive to continue airing on TV, or it wasn't bringing in enough profits for it to be worth it.

ReplyDeletejust add an inch or two every few episodes, doesn't seem to hard. They changed Ruff's hair length from long to short and then long again in 2 episodes. So why not height?

ReplyDeleteYou know what I think? Look at it carefully. Toothless doesn't shoot a plasma blast, he just roars. And then the dragons shoot their fire. It looks like Toothless is "ordering" the dragons to do that. This could mean that Toothless is the new alpha. Like the track remember? Two New Alphas? Hiccup, alpha of the village, Toothless, alpha of the dragons? I don't know if this makes sense XD

If the Canadian Netflix had better movies that i don't already own then i'd consider it, but Canadian netflix has movies that either are inappropriate stuff like movies with too much gore and fighting in them, horror movies, kids movies that i'm not interested in watching, or movies that I already own. There's like 1 season if Once Upon A Time, no Agents of Shield, no Dragons, and no good tv shows that i'd watch,

ReplyDeleteIn what way did it annoy you ? I found it was a good story, because as soon as Toothless understands he can fly on his own, he's set on the idea to get the helmet back. He's gone for 3 days, during whigh I guess he realized that, although he could fly on his own, it wasn't the same without Hiccup. Hence the new tail's destruction.
ReplyDeleteOf course, from a practical point of view, it would have been more convenient, and safer, that the 2 would not depend on each other so much. But the story is so much stronger that way.
