Dragons day is over! Congratulations to the winners of the giveaway! If you weren't able to go to the DreamWorks campus meet-up, here are some photos thanks to SonicSNES!
Whoo! Get hyped guys :)
ReplyDeleteBoth Skullcrusher and Cloudjumper (if I get this working :s) will both attend in the IRC-chat (as bots, fetching new posts from /r/httyd and DreamWorks's official twitter)!
ReplyDeleteI'll see about the photo challenge, but I'll have to watch clips instead of the digital download they are asking for.
ReplyDeleteso wait, is it the first movie we're watching or the second?
ReplyDeleteSecond!
ReplyDeleteI got the digital copy of Dragons 2 and I can't wait to watch it!
ReplyDeleteI need to buy some tissues.
Who is excited for season 3 and 4 of dragons? I know I am!
ReplyDeleteso is the movie going to be streamed or what?
ReplyDeleteAww, I can't be there... :(
ReplyDeleteSame. Though there are clips on the internet. Maybe we can take videos/photos of ourselves doing Hiccspressions or Dancing and the Dreaming. I'll only do it if I'm alone in the house because half of my family hasn't seen it. After all, you can't play the reunion of Stoic and Valka without that introduction of Valka. I don't think I can fake a first impression
ReplyDeleteNo, we were supposed to get it during the hours where Dawn of the Dragon Racers was released online. So you buy it digitally off of Amazon Prime and press play (take photo) at the end of this countdown. It's set for Pacific Time (California), so mine's at 8. Actually, I don't have a digital copy either, and I don't really enjoy buffering a movie with no additional features other than storage space and credit. So I avoid digital/ online sale, but you might try it. It is the forced future we have to live in by circa 2028 (just guessing).
ReplyDeleteI can't get the fan chat link to work.
ReplyDeleteOh. It's both! Videos and photos, and an abundance of photo options!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nightfury.duckdns.org/
ReplyDeleteHow exactly are we gonna do that party?
ReplyDeleteDragonsDay will start when the clock is 3am in my country... D: Why does this always happen?
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! Can't wait. I don't have any friends to watch it with, but me and my Toothless plushie will watch it together!
ReplyDeleteI've just found my one green sweater, and it is itchy! I'll have to wear it for one part of the watch, but I'll have to stop two minutes later because my neck is already off from floor exercise and I don't want too much more trouble with it today especially after going to a pep rally. And my webcam gets stuck on freeze-frame whenever I run something in the background, so I'll really have to guess the timings or give up movement, and with the webcam's awful sound quality, I can't exactly depend on that. I'll try to quote the scene just to get the feel as I act it out, but the audio may need removal if it's at all possible. I'm pretty much stuck in this chat area, so if I post any video, it'd have to be here. Good luck with the photo/video contest, and I hope y'all have more luck with it.
ReplyDeleteHiccspressions!
Happy Dragon Day!
ReplyDeleteAfter the Twitter Party I got a whopping 8 favs, 2 RTs. Oh, and 1 RT from FOX! :D
ReplyDeleteI won a code in the giveaway :D
ReplyDeletefor what?
ReplyDeleteI don't have another social media account. So what's the rule for posting videos of yourself here? Is there a no-face rule, must have a detailed costume, or...? My head shows for a second when I imitate Hiccup, but the rest is showing just below the chin.
ReplyDeleteI was there! It was a fun time.
ReplyDeletehahaha, I didn't notice that the timer was counting down to httyd3 xD
ReplyDeleteI missed it and I was so prepped for it man! ):
ReplyDeleteI'm going to die before that timer is done. :(
ReplyDeleteOK, I'll just remember the 31st at 11:11:11:11 until dragons. I'll tell why on Friday if I make it, but... darn, I'd be at lunch! OK, a day early, I'll tell.
ReplyDeleteAt least you have some. Would it be wrong if I celebrated with a non-HTTYD dragon like my Cedarain?
ReplyDeleteAt least I got to go out to dinner with my dad and stepmother, afterwards I did watch the movie on the iPad. :/ But I wish I would have gotten onto Twitter and chatted with other fans. :/
ReplyDeleteI wish i could have gone!
ReplyDeleteHey, Toothless the Dragon King. I've figured out the problem with School of Dragons: it needs RAM, and my laptop wasn't made to allow drivers. I ended up downloading Unity web player multiple times because the login takes me to the install page with no round-way out. I did manage to take the dragons quiz and get a 9/10 on the initial run. Other than that, I can't do much other than How to Fly Your Dragon and Fireball Frenzy...technically. Those two buffer constantly with the high flying speed of only six frames a minute, so controls don't work well there on my laptop.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of laptop u have?
ReplyDeleteWhat is its RAM?
Where u downloading unity player or unity web player? ennable it when u go to SoD game.
OMG tha timer i wish it could skip 955 days!! :P
ReplyDeleteToshiba NB255 with Intel Atom CPU N455 at 1.66 GHz.
ReplyDelete32-bit operation and only one GB of RAM.
I downloaded the web player from the login's second screen and later from the official site. It's enabled and it opens a screen window, but nothing happens on it. It shocks me because at one point I was able to get an animation program called Blender to work on it, and we've all heard how nightmarish their special capacity demands. I have a terabyte to move whatever files I can open and edit without conversion or a specialized non-duplicable program, but the computer won't allow it to work as a hard drive and speed up progresses.
oo it is slow
ReplyDelete1 GB RAM is too low.
my laptop 2 GB (2047 MB) RAM
Well u should get a better laptop
total space needed for SoD in your computer is nearly 1.78 GB.
Well my half yearly Examinations are coming So i have to be Studing.
I'm supposed to be in college in 1 1/2 semesters, so I'm afraid a new computer won't be bought anytime soon aside from academically provided ones. I wonder how long an idle account can be kept.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely excited for season 3 and 4 of dragons, this is the most anticipated thing for me at all!
ReplyDeleteDO YOU HAVE TO ASK?
ReplyDeleteAt least you got to see the one episode of the next season that anyone may have access to later...before most of us, and glimpsed it before most anyone. Now I have to wait for the disk to be in stores... and then how many holidays before I get it.
ReplyDeleteI always feel that way when a show appears, either something related to HTTYD or something that rarely actually comes on. They just come at the wrong time for me, the recordings by DVR keep getting cancelled, and I can't convince anyone that the other shows won't be back on the air for years or at stores due to age. I know there's the bull of the 70s-80s generation: no reruns, no home media, always once in a life time. But I've discovered that I need a second viewing to enjoy a movie, see if the characters are good, and get enraptured because the first time I terrify for cheesy moments and whether or not I should be watching it. I can't relax for my first viewing, but that's what they wanted us to have and nothing more, unrecorded sit-and-watch and remember the stars more than the movie. But now we have GIF. And bonus. And enhanced experience left liable by its own scratchable surface or loading time. And the chance to rerelease a movie always felt pointless to me now that we have home media and widescreen editions for them. But now they have to rely on front-page gimmicks to bring us back for the few reruns, of which this franchise's 3d is probably one of the stronger ones. We're lucky that the DVD release won't mark our first viewing of DOTDR, because we now know the tone in which to view it as we are surrounded by those who haven't yet seen it. Now their opinion awaits.
Cake!
ReplyDeleteYeah... only less than a thousand days to go....
ReplyDeleteThe cake alone is tempting.
ReplyDeleteU are in collage!
ReplyDeleteBut i am in Grade7. :P
actually I'm in grade 12. I started school a year earlier than others, though. They began at five, I began at four. And yet aside from a paying job, I'm actually more mature and attentative as a student than they.
ReplyDeleteok
ReplyDelete-Me: "I can't eat it! Hiccup's map was on it!" (throws image out, where it is caught by Barf and Belch, and then splattered on the Thorson twins who were trying to make candles go boom.)
ReplyDelete-Tuffnut: "It worked!"
That's not too bad, like... 4 weeks, right?
ReplyDeleteGuess which movie one the spot in this official 10 best scares from DreamWorks.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etdf1GVVcHU
Yeah, pretty much.... :)
ReplyDeleteAAGH! NEW! WE SHOULD TRY RUNNING IN THE DRY, TALL GRASS! (animal growls and snarls) (burning and running) I HAD TO. IT WAS NEW.
ReplyDelete-my reaction to this comment. It been 6 days long, aside from 2 long-awaited replies (I'm surprised ToothlesstheDragonKing got my message here) and the cake comment. So little activity. -sign Dabaot Ime (pronunciation pun)
What, no pre-Shrek moments? That escape from the falling train was the most consistently intense scene they made before number 1! Or is it because they weren't called DWA at the time (with exception to Shrek 1, which could be included because it belonged to a franchise that did meet the requirement of having a DWA logo for most of the series)?
ReplyDeleteI remember how Shrek 2 was the first DWA film to have the DWA logo instead of just DreamWorks. And the first Shrek had DWA Kids as a special menu feature even though the movies opening logos themselves didn't. But the hand-drawn films better have not followed this or else this list shouldn't count. So tell me, did the hand-drawn DVDs have a kids' spot bonus feature labeled with DWA, or did they simply say DreamWorks?
Okay, here I go.
ReplyDeleteIn prescisely 12 hours, 48 minutes, and 49 seconds from midnight, we will be a corduroy "holy-time" away from the home media release of "How to Train Your Dragon 2" on November 11, 2014! Yes, it's that time when all the clock's numbers hit 11, and make a series of lines similar to the corduroy fabric design. Oh, if only I had a watch that didn't change every morning, 'cause I'll be in lunch during this second. Anyway, Happy one second of Corduroy Time! On! 11-11-11 'til release!
-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-
Now I know the Wi-Fi password for Dreamworks Studios! Not that I'll ever go as I'm on the other side of the continent.
ReplyDeleteAlso I have a request: I have a Dreamworks Dragons Wikia account, but haven't figured out how to put pictures in a gallery. I have a picture of Cloudjumper shooting fire, and was wondering if someone could or would tell me how to put it in or put it in theirselves, please.
No, I celebrated with my fox plushie soooo...
ReplyDeleteIt's just dementing knowing that not one HTTYD costume has ever set foot in my town. Now I have to dress as a card. Not even a Viking suit, horned helmet, vest, or anything to make Viking clothing is available here. I was planning on spending my last Halloween before college paying a tribute to HTTYD by dressing as Hiccup or Tuffnut and perhaps mimic their voice and movements. Now, me hath no thing!
ReplyDeletePerhaps they want a citation, or you have to wait for the image to physically show up in your message before sending. Or if it's a nightmare, www coding the webpage to show the image in a specific spot...if it's legal to alter the webpage's code ("F12") to make the alignment possible. I don't edit wikias, and my computer's to slow for bannered websites, so I can only give these tips. Oh, and you may want to shrink the photo; jpegs get lossy and aliased when compressed.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteCountdown for DVD/Blu-ray will strike all 11-11-11 in
5, 4, 3, 2...
'Til Corduroy Time!!
Please call me Ahmed
ReplyDeletePlease remove that boy. Plz!!
ReplyDeleteOw yeah my 106th comment. :P
ReplyDeleteI don't know how. :(
ReplyDeleteUhm... I'm not sure if anyone hasn't heard of this but... You guys have heard about this score right? This is said to be made for HTTYD3 but was made at the time HTTYD2 was in production. this is pretty sad. Thoughts? Have any guess what will happen on this scene?
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeH6qocdXJs
I've already mentioned a few weeks ago how this might be intended as a temp track for a very emotional scene. John Powell decided it would be best to do the temp himself, as it would allow him more control with his creativity by enabling him to work on the real score without feeling forced to sound like a third-party musician. But in the case it might be real, I'll try making a transcription once I have some other transcription project out of the way. Though it sounds like temp, it does give off that Titanic (1997) emotion. I wonder what would happen if Howard Shore of The Lord of the Rings and Ed Sheeran from The Hobbit added lyrics to this, deep-low men's choir and all (I used to think "I See Fire" sounded a tad to similar to "New Tail" in its opening lyrical line).
ReplyDeleteAren't you gonna do something with it?
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! :D
ReplyDeleteHow about a capture program, so you can record certain parts of your screen as desired? Youtube gamers do it to show their gameplay, and some others use it for trailer-reaction videos with picture-in-picture of the video.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, it's annoying how the kid is always telling us a scene intense when you know his voice is happy and not exhilarated. His reaction too clearly not a reaction. Oh, and as for Monsters vs. Aliens, I remember the 3D shot with the paddleball (zoomed in for 3D version) and the wedding preparation was creepier. Just imagine the ugly stepmother turn into a bubbly pepper of squealing jolly-roast! Just felt weird. Oh, and any fauna transformation sequence will get a scare tally in my book.
The only few things I'm good on a computer is copy and paste. Nothing else works for me. :(
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but it breaks my heart everytime...
ReplyDeleteEverytime I play Stoick saves hiccup / Stoick's ship too, I have the feeling I'm reliving all "this" once more... and feel sad for Hiccup everyday !
did you like httyd 1 better or httyd 2 better
ReplyDeleteHow to Train Your Watch:
ReplyDeleteJust turn a hand.
And voila!
Daylight Savings
Has turned back one,
An end
For the early-bird.
Let's just hope the
Terrible Terrors
Don't break into...
*SKWAALAAK! ar-foom! ker. SKWAAA- skwlAH!"
Gobber in bed: "Oh, if Silent Sven was deafening my hammer! Shut 'em up, their racket. It's to early!"
Only 22735,5 hours left until httyd3! :D
ReplyDelete*Hiccup's sarcastric tone* Thank you so much.... that's good to know....
ReplyDelete3611 hours left until next season of "Game of Thrones"
ReplyDelete998 hours left until the third "The Hobbit" movie
I don't know if I can wait all this time :-<
Have you tried to count in seconds ?....
ReplyDeletewhat?
ReplyDeleteYour 106th comment. What's the occasion? I'd understand if it was the 100th comment or your joining anniversary, but what's the hype for 106? (illuminati, code, goal, class number, code on a cereal box, preferred milliliter count in your cup, number of fish your dragon caught that day, your other codename, the treehouse number from the kids next door...and speeding!)? Maybe the "s" makes it sound crazier when a cartoon says "Ow, yeah! My 106th comment!"
ReplyDeleteSeriously?
ReplyDeleteOh, I stepped out of a comvee and into civilization at last! Commercials have finally come to my TV set! Featuring some song by American Authors. And there's only one ending tidbit with Valka so spoilers are low!
ReplyDeleteWell, something has to bug me. There's been less activity here than in a Hotburple obedience school. But seriously, why waste the number 106? Is it a pet meme I'm missing or something?
ReplyDeleteO wowwwww awsome
