In September, we share the first two books in School of Dragons' new series, Volcano Escape! and Greatest Inventions. We also hinted at a brand new book, yet to be released: Storm Approaching!
And now, Storm Approaching! has arrived! Also written by Kathleen Weidner Zoehfeld, the book has a similar style as the previous works in the series by bridging the world of dragons with that of natural science and history. In Volcano Escape! we learn simultaneously about volcanoes, dragon flames, the island of Berk, and geology and in Greatest Inventions we see how Hiccup and his ideas fit in with non-Viking inventors and their inventions.
In Storm Approaching!, we follow Hiccup and the others through an explanation of climate, weather, rain, snow, sleet. Also in the book are multiple chapters on extreme weather: thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, floods, and droughts.
It makes sense that the poor residents of Berk are able to knowledgeably offer commentary on all forms of crazy weather. After all, they do live on Berk, and where being a dragon-riding Viking involves all kinds of occupational hazards! (Even so, we still feel bad for the riders.)
